Lafayette's Unseen City Tour May 18
The public is invited to the 2010 Unseen City Tour from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, in downtown Lafayette, Ind.
The tour begins at Riehle Plaza, 200 N. Second St., where tickets may be purchased and tour maps obtained. Properties include about a dozen sites, all within easy walking distance, and include a private garden, lofts, rehabilitated sites and the Tippecanoe County Courthouse.
"Downtown has many interesting, unique locales, and this tour will take participants inside and behind the scenes of places they might otherwise simply drive or walk by," said Karen Mills, tour chair. "It's a chance to enjoy architecture, innovation and restoration."
Tickets are $5 per person, with proceeds benefiting the Friends of Downtown's ongoing beautification projects. Advance tickets are available at Interior Objects, Kathy's Kandies, Main Street Cheese & Wine, Northside Music Co. and Von's Bookstore.
The event is hosted by The Friends of Downtown, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the downtown Lafayette-West Lafayette area, and Wabash Valley Trust for Historic Preservation. For more information, call the trust office at 765/420-0268.
