Electricity

Serving 69 of Indiana’s 92 counties, Duke Energy is the largest energy service provider in the state, and one of the largest in the entire country. In addition to being a reliable supplier, Duke offers its C&I (commercial and industrial) customers high-tech metering services to optimize energy usage and savings, and allow for better management decisions. Tipmont REMC is an electric cooperative located in Linden, Indiana. It serves almost 20,000 customers across Greater Lafayette’s Tippecanoe County and the contiguous Benton, Boone, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Warren and White counties.

Natural Gas

The Greater Lafayette Commerce region runs on the gas supply of Vectren, Inc.—a $2-billion corporation providing natural gas and electricity to nearly one million customers in adjoining service territories, covering nearly two-thirds of Indiana and west-central Ohio.

Internet and Telecomm

The digital world of Greater Lafayette runs on fiber networks through three available Inter Exchange Carriers—AT&T, Frontier and Sprint. Companies inside the Purdue Research Park have access to the Park’s dedicated, high-security fiber connectivity station. Frontier, the largest provider of wireline and wireless services in the U.S., offers DSL and broadband services from T1s up to DS3s and has diverse fiber rings around the city to guard against major disruptions. Comcast offers integrated cable, phone and Internet broadband services with speeds up to 50 Mbps and security, bandwidth and other features specifically designed for its dedicated Comcast Business Class division.
